Use clear faces and good light
Lithophanes rely on light and shadow. Photos with clear faces, good contrast and clean backgrounds usually produce the best result.
Avoid very dark photos
Dark photos can lose detail because too many areas become thick and block light. If possible, choose a brighter original image.
Pick photos by lamp type
Use one strong image for a flat lamp, a short memory set for a cylinder lamp and four balanced photos for a cube lamp.
